Over the last 20 years, there has been a
major shift in power away from democratic governance towards
financial institutional control of social
systems. This has been a worldwide phenomenon to which there has been
little political response or media discussion.
Utilizing economic theory and monetary policies which treat the
environment and the public sector (i.e., health, education, and social
services) as externalities continues to result in extreme social
and environmental destruction. Such questionable theories and policies
need to be opened to public debate. Well-thought-out alternative
models- such as the one COMER offers below towards refinancing
Canada- have existed for many years.

subject that nobody is talking about could actually be one that everybody
should be talking about."
